SEATING: Lear to Expand Seating Plant

Lear Operations Corp., Southfield, Mich., has announced plans to invest $2.2 million to expand its plant at Hammond, Ind. The expansion, which could add 285 jobs later this year, is needed to produce seating components for the Ford Explorer SUV.
Ford plans to build the new Ford Explorer at its Chicago plant where Lear has been supplying components since the mid-1990s.
